I am a self taught vamp and in a wierd odd way proud of it.With this in mind just know I am not a master of shielding but I did stay at a holiday inn express last night LOL. For me shielding is more of a suit of armor and less than what the name implies.Since psi attacks can and do come from any direction,so at least for me it just makes more sence to think of it in this manor. What I do is while meditating in the mornings I focus my energies into one central point (for me) my third eye I then invission it spreading outward incasing every square inch of my being like a suit of armor the strength varies depending on the amount of energy and focus as is with all energy manulation. there it is short and sweet so tell me about your I'm a curious sort and thats what we're all hear for to share and learn ;D 8-)PEACE OUT

For me, the focus is my heart or solar plexus chakra(depending on how you name them; it's the yellow one ), which for me is the base point of most of my energy. I envision it(the chakra) like a senset, radiating the energy out to form a sort of sphere around me. As you said, short and sweet. There really isn't much to 'say' where it comes to shielding... lol

Hmmm... I see mine as pretty darned similar to the force shields on the movie Dune (the one with Patrick Stewart), though maybe not so square at the edges - also coming from the solar plexus.

And see, with me . . . it tends to be natural. I can't really explain it. My shields just tend to be, literally, natural. I manage to create them, subconsciously, without even thinking about it.

That's how it *should* be once you're good at them... but most people have to learn to do it manually before they get to that point

My shield is a mirror-type shield which hovers only a few inches above my skin and covers my whole body. The outside reflects everything away, and the inside is filled with white energy. I envision all of this while shielding. I've only recently started my shield training, so any meditative technique and/or shielding techniques would be appreciated.

Just remember you don't always want a mirror. The best kind of 'every day' shields are filters, rather than reflectors. Think of the supposed use for dream catchers... they are a sort of shielding, after all. The good dreams can slip in between the sinew, through the holes, but the bad drams are too big and get caught in the web. This is also why you need to clean them periodically. The same idea easily applies to shields; using your visualizations, instead of seeing a mirror that is filled with thick white light, think instead of a spun cocoon made *from* and filled by the white light. Envision good energies and effects being able to permeate the cocoon, but bad things get tangled up in and stopped by it. This method does, like the dreamcatcher, require periodic 'cleansing' of your shield, or to let it down and put it back up 'fresh', but it allows any good energies sent to you to reach you. A mirror impersonally and equally repels *everything*.

Hmm, you're right. Thanks for the help. I'll be sure to change it out every so often. This makes much more sense. Thank you so much.

It was my understanding of dreamcatches that they didn't catch "bad" dreams cause they were too big, but because they were to stupid to find their way thru the maze of inerconecting threads; where as the "good" dreams were wise and easily found their way thru the maze and on to you.
I was also told that the "bad" dreams "die" when the morning sunlight hits the dreamcatcher.

Sunlight is the main way of cleaning a dreamcatcher, and/or a bit of salt if it's really 'clogged up'. Most of us, however, don't have the dreamcatcher hanging where the sunlight can hit it; thus why you have to 'manually' clean it now and then.

When you stop and think about it though a dreamcatcher is (at least the way it's described )is a filter.I was lucky enough to have met my great grand father who was a Cherokee medicine man and the way he explained it really does sound like more of a filter. He also said though that like any filter eventually the bad does get through, but it at least gives the person time to find a Reki master or medicine man (depending on you beliefs)in order to perform a complete cleansing. :PPEACE OUT

If you read a furnace manual you'll find that the bad stuf DOESN"T get thru as long as you "be sure to clean/replace your filters in a timely fashion"... lol
